- · Psuedocoelomate- body cavity that is not derived from the mesoderm, as in a true coelom, or body cavity. They have a pseudocoelomate.
- · Unsegmented- body is not divided into segments
- · Bilaterally symmetrical- the body plan can be divided along a plane that splits the animal's body into right and left sides that are mirror images of each other.
- · Tubular digestive tract passing from mouth to anus tiny
- · Without cilia- they move by the contraction of their longitudinal muscles
- · Live in great numbers in soil and aquatic sediments
- · Some are important animal parasites
